Description:

Impact Academy invites you to another curated masterclass on Friday, August 26th, 2022 (4 - 5 pm IST) on ”Sustainable Urbanization in Tribal and Indigenous areas of India" facilitated by IIT Gandhinagar.
Urbanization, a new phenomenon in areas inhabited by indigenous peoples of India, is marked by dispossession of their land and resources, accentuating poverty, and health hazards, causing damage to the ecology and environment, and livelihood, combined with the absence of share and participation in development. Keeping this in context, the webinar will reflect on the challenges of inclusive and sustainable urban development in India's indigenous/tribal areas.
Join this impactful discussion with Dr. Aashish Xaxa, Assistant Professor, IIT Gandhinagar on inclusive development with the indigenous lens! Dr. Aashish is trained in Development Sociology, Urban Sociology, Development theories and histories, Public Policy, Comparative Studies, Governance, Contemporary Indigenous Studies, Social Exclusion, and Adverse Inclusion.
We hope to see you join us for this webinar!
